In collaboration with ATAU, Et al. worked to develop a 3 phase design for a school,
gymnasium and public facilities in Fechy, Switzerland. Our proposal was a
programmatic organization articulating the classrooms for multiple age
groups around a “social spine” accommodating: main corridors,
vestibules, utilities, elevators, stairs, and a series of light cannons
that would flood the center of both floors of the building with natural
light. The linear arrangement of multiple phases created a “school line”
of classrooms and public spaces structuring the site into two
functions: week and weekend.
